about_v2.fld/image002.png

I create and research emerging technologies and their applications, in order to empower people to understand, transform, connect, and evolve the world. I pursued a PhD and postdoctoral education because I am broadly curious about new uses of different technologies, and deeply passionate about research and development of innovative experiences. My work intersects educational innovation and user-centered design, specifically focusing on AR / VR education, digital fabrication, software / hardware engineering, embodied cognition, child development, and socio-technological evolution.

Presently at Harvard University's Graduate School of Education I am researching technology-enhanced collaborative learning in maker spaces and informal constructivist environments. I have a PhD from Georgia Institute of Technology focused on augmented reality for K-12 education, and have previously worked with PBS KIDS (as lead product manager & lead designer of educational apps including AR Cyberchase Shape Quest), ArchieMD (as senior researcher and developer of immersive medical simulations), MIT (as creator of a Scratch-based AR programming environment for children), Samsung Research, Qualcomm, WestEd Research, and other organizations developing immersive technologies. Because I love bringing together technologists and educators, I founded the IEEE Virtual Reality conference yearly workshop on K-12+ Embodied Learning through Virtual & Augmented Reality.
